Meet OlsenStudio – Leadership with backbone and heart
My name is Susan A. Olsen. Throughout my working life, I have worked with relational dynamics - both as an actor, in teaching and in management.
At OlsenStudio, I help you through the entire process and preparations for a conversation that can feel both difficult and also a little scary.
I dress you to find calm and give you the tools to stand firm when the storm hits.
I believe that the greatest breakthroughs in both leadership and in life are found on the other side of the most difficult conversations. The only thing you get by not doing anything is the status quo and that nothing changes.
It's not about being tough, but about being ready. About having a method and being well prepared. I offer coaching and a method that equips you to navigate confrontations, speak your mind and create a culture where honesty is the path to growth.
When you dare to speak up, you create the foundation for a work environment characterized by security and progress..

A Client Story:
The Power of Preparation
Recently, I worked with a client who was facing a difficult conversation with a colleague. She shared her concern about feeling sick to her stomach
before the meeting, especially because her new manager would be present as a support person. She expressed frustration about losing her words in such situations and felt insecure, as she was new in the company. When I heard about her challenges, I offered to help her. We scheduled a session and got started quickly, as the conversation was coming up soon.
During our session, we focused on what she wanted to achieve – the desired outcome of the conversation.
We discussed which values were under pressure and what would make her feel satisfied after the meeting.
We practiced language, worked with breathing techniques, and spoke openly about the anxiety.
Together, we created a framework and a strategy to structure the conversation. The result?
Jette shared her experience with me after the meeting: "Oh Susan, you would have been SO proud of me! I got off to such a good start. I stayed on my side of the table and knew all the time what to say and how to move forward in the conversation. I wasn't afraid at all and didn't lose my words. Wow, it just felt amazing!"
This experience shows how preparation and coaching can make a significant difference in difficult conversations. I support clients in finding their voice, building confidence, and creating a sense of safety in challenging situations.
